Reply, forward messages

Postby ursule15 » 13 Apr 2007 17:09

Hi,

I am playing with si;mail, which should be very interesting, and should replace my foxmail soon...

When I reply or forward, I don't have the indentation needed.
I've seen in some screenshots of si.mail that we can have a black vertical bar in the left for the replied/forwarded message.

I am using text/html format, but nothing like this.

Thanks for your help.

The editor uses standard quoting if message is text/plain type (e.g. > character) and this character is later when viewing message replaced with colorful boxes.

When You are replying to text/html, then no such quoting is yet used.
In further versions I'll implement the PhpBB2 forum style quoting, because this is the only sane way to reply to parts of message. As English is not my mother tongue and sometimes I cannot express myself is better to show this on an example. This is planed for RC5 release.

[ quote ]
original message text 1
[ /quote ]
answer 1

[ quote ]
original message text 2
[ /quote ]
answer 2

which will when message will be sent look like this:
original message text 1

answer 1

original message text 2

answer 2

I hate replies like this
original message text 1
original message text 2

answer 1
answer 2

Miha

I understand what you want to do, good idea. phbb sounds great.

But whitout that feature, it's really difficult for me to use the product.

In fact, I'm wondering if what I have is really what I should have, because there is no quote mark, nothing at all.

Exemple :

********************
beginning of the answer here
mailto:sender@toto.fr> wrote on 16/04/2007 18:16:28:
first mail
blabla
blabla
********************

There is no emty line, no quote mark, just a header with the name of the original sender.

I'll add this in next couple of days because it doesn't require a lot of work to implement.

Miha

Thanks.
