Spam Filtering & Translations

Postby guiluge » 11 Aug 2008 08:19

Hi there,

First of all, thanks for your great Si.Mail : it is really an awesome mail client, and I appreciates his differences much more everyday ;-)
I've install the latest stable version, that was released in May.

It works pretty well, but I have to 'bugs' (I'm not sure these are bugs though :) ) :

1) I can't manage to enable spam filtering : I keep dropping spam messages in the JunkMail folder, I thought this was the way to feed the filter, but it doesn't seem to work : I keep receiving similar messages... Is spam filtering disabled in the stable version ?

2) Since I'm French, I use of course the French translation, and I noticed some strings aren't translated yet. I edited those strings with Poedit, and some of them still remain untranslated (for instance, the 'Load images' button, that appear with an HTML message).

Thanks in advance & keep up the fine work ;-)

Best regards,
Guillaume.

Hi Guillaume,
I'll be releasing new bugfix release in a couple of days, it should be release previous weekend, but it don't have much time to develop during the summer :(.

1.) Moving spam messages into Junk mailbox is correct way for feeding the spam filer, but as you figured out it's not yet implemented. Feature is in development and it works. I just have to figure out how to include it into the current stack.
2.) Regarding the French translation please contact the maintainer logpc I think that private messages are working. If there are still untranslated strings please let me know and I'll try to fix that.

Regards,
Miha

Hi,

Thanks for your answers ;-)

I'll PM Mr. Logpc this afternoon, as you suggests : I'll keep you in touch.
I'll wait for your new version too, with great impatience (for sure)

Best regards,

Guillaume.

PS : I'm a developer, so I could lend you a hand if you're a little overheated :)
I've not used Pascal for ages, though

Mostly C/C++, Java.
I've gone a long way too, with graphical toolkits, Gtk and especially Qt.

I'm quite busy, but I would be really glad if I could help you a little ;-)

Guillaume.

By the way, I'm achieving some web projects, with the whole PHP / SQL / Javascript package.
I can also develop Firefox / Thunderbird extensions & plugins.
